Description
“Last Round before Sundown Beckenham Place Park”
This signed and numbered open edition small collectors print of an original painting shows a golfer in Beckenham Place Park heading back at the end of the day towards the large building at the top of the hill know as Beckenham Place Mansion, having finished his round of golf. The Grade II listed building seen in the background beyond the wonderful oak tree was built in 1762 for an English timber merhant – John Cator. It was turned into a public golf course in 1934 following the buying of the estate some years previously by London County Council. It is no longer a golf course, but has evolved into a cultural space and park.
