Description

Signed, Limited Edition Giclee print (100) “The Moorings, Fullbridge Quay, Maldon”  is the view from old Fullbridge Mill building which is now used as offices and is one of my favourite views of Maldon across the river Chelmer.  Fullbridge sits at the bottom of Market Hill at the crossing over the river Chelmer.  It is home to the wharf of Green’s flour mills and, further along the river. On the opposite bank there are several boat builders yards where you can often see a sailing barge being repaired or restored and Sigfjell a 1914 built Norwegian coaster.  The buildings to the left have been built to echo the architecture of the Old Flour Mill.  I love to cross this bridge on my way to the studio each day and see where the tide is and look at the light on the water.

This is part of my growing catalogue of original paintings depicting my new(ish) home and forms part of my first exhibition of ten new original paintings.  It is my first response of my experience exploring the locale over the last few years.   Maldon is a such lovely town with many places of interest making it a really lovely day out from the history of the ancient buildings to beauty of the countryside.
