About Gone Crabbing, Hythe Quay, Maldon
Signed limited edition giclee print(100) “Gone Crabbing, Hythe Quay, Maldon” celebrates the popular activity of crabbing here in Maldon’s Hythe Quay on a day out. I came across this family all looking down with little buckets. Being fairly new to the area wondered what it was they were looking for. Seems that here, just along from Steam Tug Brent, you can find a good spot to find the Green Shore Crab. They are found on the Essex coastline – living in the mud and amongst seaweed.
This is part of my growing catalogue of original paintings depicting Maldon and forms part of my first exhibition of ten new original paintings. It is my first response of my experience exploring the locale over the last few years. Maldon is a such lovely town with many places of interest making it a really lovely day out from the history of the ancient buildings to beauty of the countryside and unusual activities such as this! You can pick up a bucket and some bait from one of the little shops along the “Prom”.
